JAKARTA: Indonesia recorded US$1.63 billion trade surplus with the export value at US$16.52 billion and import at US$14.89 billion.
Djamal, Deputy Statistic Distribution of Central Bureau of Statistic (BPS), explained today that cumulatively, Indonesia booked US$8.22 billion trade surplus from January to April. Export value in January to April was US$61.91 billion while import value reached US$53.69 billion.
According to Djamal, the largest surplus came from non-oil and gas export, reaching US$1.92 billion, while for oil and gas export, Indonesia suffered US$300 million deficit. "The largest deficit was in oil export, amounting to US$2.27 billion. For gas sector, we booked US$1.94 billion surplus," he said. (T02/NOM)
