JAKARTA: PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk obtained a 2 year tenure bilateral loan amounted to US$50 million from Wells Fargo Bank N.A. The loan will be used to strengthen BNI foreign exchange liquidity and to improve short and long term funding composition.
The loan will be allocated especially to support asset funding such as trade finance or other assets with an equivalent tenor in BNI's branch in London, and to meet liquidity related requirements of Financial Service Authority in England.
The facility agreement was sealed today by BNl's Director of Treasury and Financial Institution Adi Setianto and Wells Fargo Executive Vice President - Regional Manager South East Asia & India's Jones Castro Jr.
The bilateral loan facility, said Setianto, is an opportunity for the bank to develop and to support international business expansion.
"Furthermore, the cooperation with Wells Fargo is also the reflection of international institutions confidence to BNI and to Indonesia economic development."
Wells Fargo Bank N.A is one of four largest banks by asset and two biggest banks in US by market capitalization.
BNI is one of Indonesia biggest bank, owns 1,444 branches nationwide and 5 oversea offices. (t05/msw)
