JAKARTA: Indonesia Stock Exchange recorded foreign buy amounting to IDR14.5 trillion in the January-May 2011.
President Director of Ito Warsito said the value has increased significantly compared to 2010 performance which was at IDR21 trillion.
"This is in line with the bullish Indonesian capital market industry as well as the increase in investment inflows into domestic capital market," he said today.
Ownership of domestic investors begins widening in Indonesia. Foreign ownership in Indonesian shares fell to 63% compared to 70% in five years ago.
Average daily transactions in year to date was IDR5.2 trillion in 2011 compared to last year's average at IDR4.8 trillion. The number of investors who are listed in PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI) has reached 350,000 accounts.
Ito said the company expects the Indonesian capital market to grow with an increasing number of investors.(T03/NOM)
