JAKARTA: PT BW Plantation Tbk, a plantation company, produced 48,425 tons of crude palm oil in January-April 2011, doubling from performance of the same period last year.
In an information disclosure published today, the company said that its palm kernel oil output surged 50.13% to 8,116 tons.
Meanwhile, the fresh fruit bunch being harvested from nucleus plantation soared 55.11% to 201,732 tons.
In May 2011, output hiked significantly compared to the same period last year, where crude palm oil output rose 62.86% to 12,161 tons, whilst palm kernel oil output leaped 57.39% to 2,087 tons.
The company allocated IDR500 billion to finance its capital expenditure. The company targets to expand its plantation by 10,400 hectares. Based on the company's records in first quarter 2011, it has only utilized 50,111 hectares from total 95,182 hectares of land.
With the additional area, the company will have 62,510 hectares of plantation area, comprising 19,663 hectares of arable land and 35,021 of non-productive land.
The BWPT-coded stock gained 1.69% or IDR20 to Rp1,200 at the Jakarta Stock Exchange as of 2.11 p.m., reversing its three days loss. (NOM)
